Couture collection summer 2010

Gabriella

Here are some more of the summer 2010 couture collection - and of course the gown we have used on the title page, obviously a favourite.
I love the shading from silk white on the neckline to a very warm cream at the hem. We used approxiamtely 90m's of organza and tulle for this little number!

Alisha

This is a beautiful fitted shape, with a soft silk satin chiffon drape at the front and finished with applique lace on the bodice panels.

Sophia (couture)

A very 1940's inspired full skirt, tiny waist finished with diamante detailing and fine chantilly lace detail on the bodice.

Sharon (couture)

It is actually hard to see in the image, but we have rows and rows of topstictching and ribbon work to achieve a visual corset effect, and flattering paneling. Quite a sexy little number.

These wedding dresses, take five fittings to fit you to perfection - which is why i love to make them,  as i see them as a work of art of soft sculpture.

A stunning New Zealand wedding

I Loved these images Kris sent me of her wedding in Queenstown in New Zealand

Kris had one of our Couture wedding gowns which looked stunning.

The gown is constructed from layers of organza flowing into a full train and bustle at the back of the skirt

They are stunning shots - i love the emotion of the day, and the beauty of the bride and groom to the contrast and drama of the landscape The wedding Photographer's are a husband and wife team based in Christchurch NZ.

In Naomis email i loved the beautiful simplicity of this line:

My name is Naomi van Dyck, and on the 23rd May, 2009 I got married to the love of my life, in Yarraglen. Our day was perfect.

To me this said it all

Naomi wore our margot skirt, chantilly bodice all tied at the (tiny) waist with a black satin sash.

BULGARI - The event – Create the Perfect Wedding

On Monday 12th October we had a wonderful evening presented by Bulgari

Place – Commencing with a cocktail in the Bulgari store and an overview of fine diamonds. Followed by a full cocktail party and bridal presentation featuring the couture gowns at The Residence at the Grand Hyatt – a new event venue styled like a large luxury apartment with double height ceilings and a blue stone courtyard with a retractable roof. The Residence overlooks Collins St on the 8th level of the Hyatt.

The Residence is a stunning venue. (i highly recomend it for a venue choice)

The screen behind was showing clips of old movies with the actresses all wearing Bulgari

- such a history, divine.

Bobbi Brown & Jo Malone day @ the Melbourne store

We had a great day on Sunday 12th October 2009 at the special event we held at the Melbourne store.

Step 1. Bridal make-up by Nikki from Bobbi Brown 

Step 2. Hand massage and perfume consultaion with Opal from Jo Malone.

The store smelt divine with the Jo Malone candels.

Step 3. After all of the pampering it was time to try on the gowns and check which one to wear down the aisle

All of the brides recieved a gift bag with lipstick and perfume.

They are all so romantic and beautiful

The very start of the blog we have been meaning to write for a long time 03.10.09 - a big day!

Wedding gowns, dresses, bridal dress - all names for one of the most important outfit's of your whole life - no pressure there!

How to decide what to wear?

To start with, do not forget to enjoy choosing your gown, we find very many stressed brides before they have even started.

Keep an open mind and look in magazines, search the web, look at many websites to get a good overview -

Take a trusted friend and go shopping - try on lots of gowns, keep an open mind and you will soon get a picture of what looks great on you, which you feel special in, and the gown to wear on your special day.
