Gowns in soft knit fabrics such as these can be unforgiving, but all that is solved with clever draping around the waist, which conceals any lumps or bumps, while also creating a gorgeous gown feature. Aurelio Costarella
Aurelio Costarella is another Karen Willis Holmes favourite, with his ability to constantly create striking, feminine pieces that fall beautifully with impeccable detail.
For brides who are loving his corseted bodice and gorgeous, full bodied, ruffle skirt, at Karen Willis Holmes we recommend you try the organza ‘Petal Skirt’ with the ‘Ribbon Bodice’, made from silk contessa with satin ribbon detailing. The corset provides excellent structure through the bodice, while the skirt adds a playful volume to lift the entire look.
A big statement collar/bolero works so well with a very simple, streamline styled gown. The ‘Maddison’ gown is a great example, especially with its pleated, tulle bolero to add a bit of drama to the otherwise understated gown. Purple, in any shade, can be worked into your bridal look, whether it be with the use of a purple sash, scatter a few purple fabric flowers to accessorise your gown, or even within your bridal bouquet.

To create a more ‘ruffly’ look, head towards the ‘Zoe’ or ‘Roberta’ gowns. The ‘Zoe’ gown is made from the beautiful soft Bella Georgette, a light, slightly transparent soft silk, which creates the beautiful soft ruffles. For a gown with more structure, the ‘Roberta’ is a better option, with its corsetry and silk shantung makeup, there is a stronger finish to the ruffles.

Pop a gorgeously, full, high-waisted skirt on there, and you have an attention grabbing outfit. The ‘Sophia’ gown looks amazing and follows the same sweetheart neckline that softens the dramatic look of the skirt.
